Hey there! We're Luke and Rach, the fun, ‘don’t take themselves too seriously’, imaginative minds behind Grapefruit Creative!
One day, we decided to shake things up and ditch our 9-5 gigs because, well, why not? First stepping into the wedding industry, we soon realised we wanted more. We’re passionate about cinematic shots mixed with real personalities. We're all about helping brands thrive to achieve the goals they’ve set.
Nestled in sunny Newcastle, NSW, we find inspiration in our travels, the salty sea breeze, delicious food and of course coffeeeeeeee!
HI I’M RACH
Origin Story… I’ve had a camera in my hand since 2016 when I first went to uni. I wasn’t entirely sure I was going to work in media until one of my friends at the time asked me to take photos for her new fashion line. I came out of that experience and thought to myself, “huh, I kind of loved that..and I think I might be pretty good”, and the rest is history.
My Favourite Part of My Job is… Photoshoots for sure! That’s where it all began for me. But I also love producing and directing with our clients. I love letting my imagination run wild! Also…any time I get to work with my amazing husband is definitely a win too.
What I Get Up To Outside of Work… I love strumming my guitar or soaking up the sunshine. I’ve discovered I love pickleball, so that’s been added to my list recently. And of course going for swims (ocean or pool), I’m a bit of a water baby!

Origin Story… When Rach and I were first dating we initially bonded over our love for taking photos! One of our first dates was visiting a sunflower field taking pictures together. A few years later (after we had just got married) we started filming and photographing weddings, and since then we’ve never looked back!
My Favourite Part of My Job is… Setting up a well composed shot with amazing lighting and great audio (I love a good talking head!) I’m also a little bit of an unusual creative person in that I really like sales calls too!
What I Get Up To Outside of Work… Surfing is my favourite way to switch off, but when I can’t make it to the beach I love a bit of PS5 or on the opposite spectrum, reading a good business book!
